Residents urged to SHOP LOCAL
Written by Phil Briscoe on 18/06/2021
Campaigns by Dunbartonshire Chamber of Commerce are urging all residents to support local business and shop local. Adding to the existing Dumbarton Loves Local, Vale Loves Local and Clydebank Loves Local campaigns, the new Balloch Loves Local campaign will see the area promoted via social media pages, a new website and in new printed leaflets which will be distributed around the community and will list many of the local businesses, clubs and community groups in the area.
Residents in all these areas are being encourages to “#ThinkLocalFirst” by shopping locally and engaging via the social media channels that have been set up for each town.
Project co-ordinator and Dunbartonshire Chamber of Commerce Chief Executive Damon Scott said: “The flyers list just some of the fantastic businesses that have registered with us in and around the towns where we have launched the LovesLocal campaign. Choosing to shop, eat and think locally helps build the prosperity of an area, supports local jobs as well as being better for the environment, reducing our carbon footprint to build a fairer, greener society.”
The Loves Local campaigns are part of a larger national campaign, funded by the Scottish Government through Scotland’s Town Partnership and is being delivered locally by the Chamber of Commerce in partnership with West Dunbartonshire Council and the local Business Gateways.
Any business interested in getting involved in any of the campaigns should email firstname.lastname@example.org and everyone is encouraged to connect via social media. Details below.
